How to build a hexagon?
Understanding the simplest patterns in geometry, one can learn to build more complex shapes on a plane. So, most geometric shapes have a rather complicated form, however, knowing certain rules, you can understand how to construct a hexagon using only a compass and a ruler.
First, on a sheet of paper, you must draw a circle, this is done with a compass. Set the tool legs at a certain level from each other to set the radius, then draw a circle. It is important to remember that the circle should fit completely on a sheet of paper. In this case, if the legs of the compass are very close to each other or, conversely, very far from each other, then it may not be possible to draw the correct circle. Therefore, it should be borne in mind that between the legs should be an angle of about 30 degrees.
Now you need to build points that will be the vertices of the angles of the hexagon. To do this, without changing the distance between the legs of the compass, set the needle at any point of the circle so that the needle is exactly on the line. The more accurate the actions, the more accurate the further construction will be. Now we make a compass arc until it intersects with the circle line. This will be one of the vertices of the corners of the hexagon. Next, move the needle to the just received point and perform the same actions. This operation will need to be done four more times, resulting in six points, that is, six corners.
Before you build a regular hexagon, you need to connect the resulting points. All actions must be done with a pencil and ruler to achieve the most accurate result. As a result, a regular hexagon inscribed into a circle will appear on a sheet of paper.
