How To Cook Perfect Eggs Every Time
How to Make the Perfect Egg Every Single Time
You make eggs all the time, but that doesn't mean you're making themright. Follow these steps to make the perfect poached, sunny-side up, and boiled eggs so you can dig in for breakfast, lunch and, yes, dinner.
Step 1:Place eggs in a saucepan and add enough cold water to cover them. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
Step 2:Remove pan from heat when water reaches a boil; cover and let sit 1 to 2 minutes.
Step 3:Transfer eggs to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking (this also makes them easy to peel when cool enough to handle). The whites should be fully cooked and the yolks soft and runny.
Step 1:Heat 1 Tbsp canola oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Crack each egg into a small cup, then gently slip eggs into skillet and cook over medium-low heat 1 minute.
Step 2:Cover skillet and cook about 5 minutes, until white is set.
Step 1:Fill a large saucepan with 3 inches of water. Add 1 Tbsp white vinegar (this helps the whites coagulate). Bring to a gentle simmer. Crack each egg into a small cup, then slide eggs, one at a time, into water.
Step 2:Cook 5 to 7 minutes, adjusting heat accordingly to keep at a gentle simmer, until whites are set and yolks are slightly runny. Poach longer if you like firmer yolks.
Step 3:Remove eggs with a slotted spoon. Transfer eggs to a paper towel.
