• How to warm the floor?

People always strive to create in their home a unique atmosphere of comfort, each component part plays a special role. One of these components is gender. In order to preserve heat, it is necessary to ensure proper thermal insulation, but how to warm the floor, what materials are better to use, than to warm the floor in a private house, so that it is not so expensive, and than to warm the wooden floor? We will try to answer all these and many other questions in this article.

Our home is our fortress, and we always need to maintain and maintain heat for normal life. From the textbooks on physics, we know very well that the cold air descends, thus leaving the floors in the house colder. Owners of private houses and residents of the first floors of apartment buildings, this problem is familiar firsthand. Now the question arises before us: how to insulate a wooden floor, based on the constructive solution of the room or building. Of course, first you need to decide on the materials that we need. For this there is a certain classification.Thermal insulation materials are divided into: chipboard (plywood, chipboard, sawdust); silicate (glass wool); plastic and polymeric (foam, penoizol - liquid polymer, penofol - roll, heat insulating paints). Naturally, out of this amount of heat-insulating materials, you will need some concrete, so let's take a closer look at the properties most commonly used in everyday life and decide the best way to warm the floor.

Due to its cellular structure, this material is able to retain heat for a long time. Expanded polystyrene is durable and is perfect for warming the floors of the inhabitants of the first floors in high-rise buildings. One of the main qualities is also fire resistance, so this material can be used for thermal insulation of baths, private houses and cottages. It is noteworthy that the composition of polystyrene prevents the process of rotting, it gives you the opportunity to get rid of insects and mosquitoes.

    Mineral wool

If, in addition to insulation, you would like to carry out sound insulation, then a heater like mineral wool will help you to “kill two birds with one stone”.Such material has proven to be waterproof and fire resistant. For ease of use during the process of warming a room, mineral wool can be of two main types: a flexible mat and a hard plate. The names speak for themselves, the flexible mat usually looks like rolls and has two sides, one of which is covered with perforated paper. During waterproofing, perforated paper should be at the bottom. A solid plate also has two sides, the first part is highlighted in blue, which allows us to understand that this side should be laid up, as it is also the most solid and resistant to mechanical damage.

One of the most simple is insulation using insulating linoleum. Fiber boards, which will soon be able to lay parquet, laminate or linoleum, is not a bad insulation in residential premises. This method of insulation is perfect for residents of the upper floors of a multi-storey building, since such floors do not keep heat for long floors and so that the floor does not really cool, you will have to carefully plaster the foundation of a residential building and close the basements for the winter period.

    Double floors

How do you like this option to warm the room with double floors? Understand, not literally, the whole point is that the floor will consist of two floorings - clean and black floor that are at a distance of 150-200 mm. It should start with the black floor, which consists of thick boards or slabs, which in turn are attached to the beams with grooves. Between the layers of the flooring should fit as closely as possible to each other, so as not to wake up the backfill, if this is not possible, use parchment or thick paper. Backfilling most often consists of dry river sand and its thickness is at least 55 mm. This method, as you already guessed, is perfect for private houses and cottages.

    Warm floor

Recently, this kind of thermal insulation, such as underfloor heating, is gaining special popularity. Due to the ease of mounting and the ability to control the incoming heat, this type of insulation is suitable for almost any room or building. The floor consists of a cable system, which includes heating and connecting elements. “Warm floors” are equipped with a temperature controller, which allows you to determine the heat you need yourself. The installation begins with the laying of heat-insulating material on which aluminum foil is laid, then the heating cable is laid and poured with concrete. The concrete layer should be from 3 to 5 cm thick. Such a floor will help to avoid drafts, due to the fact that the air in the room is distributed evenly. Such floors can also be installed in the bathroom, as it is much more pleasant to get out of the shower and step onto a warm tile rather than a cold one.

    Warming floors using fiberboard

The good old flooring of sheets of hardboard is the most inexpensive way to warm the home. This is not the most heat-saving way, however, the cheapest. The most common brands of chipboard are M-20 and PT-100. To begin to warm the floors, you must first remove the baseboards and only then you can begin to nail the sheets to the floor. When everything is finished and all sheets are laid, you can begin laying parquet, laminate or linoleum.

Awareness is the best weapon, now when you are armed with information it will be much easier for you to choose the most convenient and economical way to warm your floor. We hope that we could help you in solving the issue of “how to warm the floor in the house. Good luck!
