What They DON'T Tell You About Oil Pulling!!!! (My Experience, How to, Benefits & Negatives)
Oil Pulling: What You Need to Know
What is it?
Oil pulling is the practice of swishing either coconut or sesame oil around your mouth for 10-20 minutes, to rid your mouth of bacteria and toxins. Why on earth would you do that, you ask? Well, the idea is that the solid oil combined with your saliva works to trap bacteria and toxins, which you then spit out thereby stopping all those nasties from spreading around your body. In addition to getting rid of lots of nasties, proponents of oil pulling also claim that it can whiten teeth and prevent bad breath!
Where did it come from?
Originating over 5,000 years ago in ancient India, oil pulling was used as a method of Ayurvedic medicine, one of the world’s oldest holistic healing systems.
It’s the Paltrow effect. Since she admitted to trying it for its supposed teeth-whitening benefits, we’re all over it. Watch out. Before you know it, you’ll be describing how you and your ex consciously uncoupled.
What does the expert say?
Celebrity Cosmetic Dentist, Dr Uchenna Okoye says, 'There is no scientific evidence at all to support this craze on 'oil pulling'.
