• Secrets of growing indoor airwash

Do you like growing flowers? Then pay attention to the wonderful plant Ahichrison. And so that he only pleases you, find out and follow the basic rules of caring for him.

    What is this plant?

Aihrizone is a succulent plant of the Crassulaceae family, which can be both annual and perennial. The Azores or Canary Islands are considered its homeland, and it is found most often in Morocco, Portugal, Madeira. Surprisingly, in nature, this flower grows in rock crevices.

The plant is short and often does not reach a height of even 50 centimeters. Stems are straight and partially branched. At their ends, rather fleshy and usually covered with pile leaves grow, which are shaped like hearts, for which ahihrizon is sometimes called the "tree of love." This plant usually blooms in summer, delighting with small, star-shaped red or yellow flowers collected in some panicles.

There are many types of airshyzone, but the most common ones are homemade, pinpoint, loose, tortuous, and chipped.

    How to choose a pot?

The pot should not be too wide and even a little cramped, in which case the plant will actively bloom. If the capacity is large, then all the forces will go to the formation of a powerful root system. The height should also be medium, since the roots of such a flower are not long.

    Where to put the plant?

The pot can be placed on the window sill, but it is worth remembering that in nature, aykhrizon usually grows in partial shade or under diffused and not direct sunlight. Therefore, it is best to choose a western or eastern window, but to protect it from the scorching sun.

    What soil will do?

How to grow airbrush at home? Pick the right soil. In general, this plant is not very demanding in this regard, so a mixture of sand and soddy soil is quite suitable for planting.

You can also prepare a substrate of 4 parts of sod land, part of leafy land, part of humus and part of sand. You can add pieces of charcoal to the soil to ensure proper drainage.

    Care rules

Care for airflow includes several key points:

    1. Lighting. The light loves this plant, but still it must be diffused, otherwise overdrying or getting burns is possible. You can hang a window curtain or gauze. To form a beautiful crown, the pot needs to be rotated periodically. In addition, approximately from the middle of autumn to the middle of spring, the illumination should be sufficient, so that the rays can not be shaded (but still be more careful). If the light is not enough (and it should fall on the flower at least 6 hours a day), then use a fluorescent lamp.
    2. Temperature. Optimal temperature for normal growth in summer (that is, during the active vegetation period) is approximately 22-25 degrees. And in winter, airflow requires rest, so the temperature will need to be reduced to 10-15 degrees (for this you can remove it, for example, in the basement or in a cool room). If the temperature falls below 8 degrees, then the plant can freeze. And if it rises to 30, then airflow will fall into stagnation - the so-called summer rest.
    3. Humidity. In nature, the flower grows in a subtropical climate, so it loves high humidity, but it also carries dry air normally. And yet, to ensure rapid growth and flowering during the growing season, you can periodically arrange a shower, sprinkling the leaves (in the winter, this procedure is contraindicated).
    4. Proper watering. The plant requires a sufficient amount of moisture, so it should be watered regularly. During the growing season (summer) should be watered about every two days. But so that the roots do not start to rot from an oversupply of liquid, you should wait for at least partial drying of the soil (about half of the pot). During the winter period of rest, watering is reduced and rarely carried out. But still do not allow the leaves to dry. The soil should dry out almost completely, but not remain dry for too long. If, when pressed, the crown springs, then you can wait a little longer. If it has become rather dry, it's time to add water.
    5. Fertilizer. The plant requires feeding, but not too frequent. It should be done only during the vegetation period (that is, approximately from May to October) about two times a month. For this, complex supplements are suitable for succulents. But the content of nitrogen in them should be minimal.
    6. Transfer. Transplantation is rarely carried out only when necessary: if the flower began to feel bad, and its roots filled almost the entire space of the pot. And to replant the flower is best in the spring.Watering the plant after such a procedure can only be 5-7 days later so that it can get used to it.
    7. Crop. During the flowering period, the leaves may dry out, so clean them in a timely manner. And to form a beautiful and smooth crown during the whole period of vegetation, one can pinch the tips of young shoots, especially very high ones. In addition, the weakened shoots are recommended to be removed so that the airshyne does not waste their strength on them.

Reproduction is carried out in two main ways:

    • Cuttings. This option is more simple. It should be the plant (only not in the period of its flowering) to take several shoots and slightly wilted them in a dry and dark place for several hours. Then they can be safely planted, using soil for succulents, vermiculite or wet sand. Rooting in water is also allowed, but charcoal must be added to it. When the first roots appear, it is necessary to plant sprouts in small containers filled with a mixture of one part of sod land, part of leafy ground and part of river sand (always cleaned). Watering at this stage is carried out once a day, and the air temperature should be about 16-19 degrees.
    • You can also propagate such a home flower and seeds. To do this, prepare the soil, consisting of two parts of leafy ground and part of river sand. The substrate is moistened and seeds are placed in it (it is not necessary to deepen them). Next, cover the container with a film and leave for two weeks, but daily moisturize by spraying, and also ventilate, briefly opening the film.

    Emerging issues

The following problems are likely to occur during the cultivation of airflow:

    1. Bare shoots may indicate that the temperature in the winter dormancy was too high.
    2. If the stems are drawn out, then there is probably not enough light, and the temperature is quite high.
    3. If the leaves fall (not in the flowering period), then this may be due to abundant watering or excessive lighting.
    4. The rotting of the roots and base of the trunk, most likely, speaks of waterlogging. Watering needs to be reduced.
    5. If the leaves began to shrivel and turn yellow, then moisture, by contrast, is not enough.
    6. If the leaves are formed with peculiar white blisters, then this indicates a disease that is called "white edema."

Let your airflow grow and delight you with flowers!
