Kate Middleton's amazing mum reflexes save the day yet again
The Duchess Of Cambridge’s ‘Mum Skills’ Save The Day On A Royal Visit To Coventry
The Duchess of Cambridge put her four years of being a mother to good use yesterday, as she came to the aid of a young boy waiting in the crowd for her at Coventry Cathedral.
Catherine and husband Prince William were in the Midlands city on Tuesday for a day of engagements, including a visit to the historic local landmark.
The royal couple were of course met by swathes of fans desparate to get a glimpse or shake their hand. But it seems one young boy was left rather overwhelmed by the arrival of the Duke and Duchess.
While the Duchess was weaving her way through the crowds, she came across a little boy, Craig, for whom the excitement of a royal visit had all become a bit too much – leaving him feeling a bit sick.
Carole Flynn, a mentor at Corpus Christi school, told publications however that Catherine was quick to help the worried little boy, 10, who had been waiting in the crowds for over three hours to see the royal couple.
She shared how quickly Catherine’s motherly instincts kicked in, saying, “Princess Kate came over and give him a sickbag, our little Craig. I think he was a little bit overcome. He went quite pale.”
Carole went on describe how the Duchess looked after and consoled the young boy – something she’s likely to be much practised in doing with her own young children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
She said, “She came over to speak to him, and noticed he was not very well. She asked if he was okay. She bent down and was concerned.”
“It was lovely of her. She really took time with him. You can tell she is a mum, and has got that caring side.”
Luckily, Catherine’s reassurance and words of encouragement clearly worked, as Carole revealed, “He is feeling a little better now.”
The Duchess made sure to wrap up warm for the day-long engagement, wearing a hot pink Mulberry coat that she’s worn twice before while pregnant with Princess Charlotte.
Catherine is now well over five months pregnant with hers and Prince William’s third child, with her due date in April 2019.
