Hello, I just now got your messages, so, from what I understand, you want me to add an in use tag onto Visit Disney Springs before it gets demoted. I would be happy to finish this article. I think that the best way to do this would be to leave the current in use tag on, and I will refresh the date and leave a note in the edit summary that I have taken over the writing of that article, or we can do it another way. I also noticed that you said that you want to talk this through, I'm available now and I will be for quite a few more hours from the time that I send this message, so feel free to reach out to me. :)

Wouldn’t that put them within Technology Pranks? By my count it would, and they didn’t fit in that category, I don’t think.

Oh nice! I had forgotten that it came up there... was it one of the meals at the hotel, or the Saturday lunch?

Donagansaid:

Thanks, Chris! Did you notice there's a problem in Part 1 Step 3 (the first step 3)? I've asked Anna about it, but if you know how to fix it, let me know (or wade into it yourself). The step numbering is messed up, and so are the images. I was wondering if it had to do with the hyperlink at the beginning of the Step. Thanks again! :)

At 18:46, Oct 03, 2019

Donagansaid:

OK, Chris, I'll go to work on the shopping and eating venues. Are there any websites you particularly trust for that information? I've seen a few around, but I thought maybe you know which ones are best.

Annasaid:

Nice team work on the format fixes! Someone rang the doorbell and I got distracted in the middle of an edit... came back and of course you'd spotted and fixed it. Go you :D

Annasaid:

Any time - high five! And Halloween, man, it's creeping up... probably no trick or treating for us yet this year (baby too young), but we do want to try to get her a costume!

Donagansaid:

Actually I haven't been to D-land in 20 years or more and haven't lived around there for even longer. But I'll snoop around and find what I need. Thanks! :)

I grew up in LA and went to Disneyland quite a few times as a kid but not much recently. I'm happy to help out, however.

At 02:25, Oct 04, 2019

Annasaid:

Sure thing - I gave it a go! I did broaden a couple of steps where I think different editors could successfully take slightly different approaches, and I cut a bit out where I think we can assume that most people using this guide would already know the type basics. No need to repeat info they already know, right? So tried to focus it on the theme park "theme" specifically. Feel free to change it, but I think it's in pretty good shape :)

At 02:51, Oct 04, 2019

Annasaid:

Thanks for the TU!

At 02:52, Oct 04, 2019

Annasaid:

Nice :)

At 16:18, Oct 04, 2019

Annasaid:

Let's see...

I do think it makes sense to have a bit of a quick shortcut list there, because knowing the basics through 10x10 or so really helps with lots of other math problems. Those are the ones that come up the most, so it's often helpful just to memorize them, you know?

Hmm, I'm not totally following why the current LaTeX format is an issue. It breaks it down so that you can see what goes into the equation. You just use the code before the arrow, to make the symbol after it, within math tags.

I don't know as much about the LaTeX format as Atheia - he might be a better person to help with specifics. But as for the need to have multiple math tags, I think the general rule of thumb is to stop and start wherever you want to include characters that aren't in the math format. Best thing you can probably do is just try and see what renders :)

At 18:15, Oct 04, 2019

Annasaid:

That'd probably work, but how's ? That way, the whole thing shows up in the same style?

LaTeX isn't essential everywhere, for sure, but I think it can come in handy in cases where the computer text version of an equation is much harder for readers to recognize/understand than the hand-written form - so these exponents are a great example. It's just much easier to read with the 2 up top, don't you think?

At 18:20, Oct 04, 2019

Annasaid:

Ah okay - I thought brackets were only needed when it had more than one term/digit/etc. But if it's not displaying right, yea, def - thank you for fixing it!

At 18:22, Oct 04, 2019

Annasaid:

Nice! I think you'd def need a bracket if you were doing something like 6^{x+2} ... but 6^x is okay without. Tricky tricky!

At 18:37, Oct 04, 2019

Annasaid:

Nice :)

R2_d2000said:

Hello, I know that your priorities have changed, but I just wanted to keep you in the loop and tell you that I am going to Epcot today, so I will take a lot of pictures while I am there to add to the article and replace any pictures in the article that are not correctly sized or outdated (unless the pictures that I take aren't as good). You can probably expect to see those either tonight, tomorrow night, or on Tuesday (depending on when I have time).

But I also had a question for you, I think that the formatting on Visit Epcot could be better, but I don't know how to improve it. I just wanted to ask if you think if it would be a good idea to post a message in the Collaboration Corner on the Forums to see if anybody has any ideas?

Also, please let me know if you would like to keep receiving updates about the Disney articles from me. And thanks for all your help. :)

At 15:44, Oct 06, 2019

R2_d2000said:

In Visit Epcot, some of the some of the steps are so long that they take up the whole screen on my laptop, and that's not including the pictures. This seems difficult to read because it's like a wall of text. I was trying to think of ways to make them shorter or break them up, but I don't want to make the article less reader friendly or remove useful info, so I'm kind of stuck. Do you see any way that these steps could be made shorter without reducing the reader-friendliness of the article? Or is this not a problem?

At 17:08, Oct 06, 2019

R2_d2000said:

OK, sounds good, thanks for the message.

At 17:18, Oct 06, 2019

Annasaid:

Don't feel flustered - never any rush! Take your time to think about the options.

Breaking down very long stops is often a good idea, as well as eliminating any redundancies or info so specific that most readers won't need to know. Maybe Don has some ideas for streamlining there? I'm not really familiar enough with Epcot to say what's vital or not... only been there once!

At 00:46, Oct 07, 2019

R2_d2000said:

Hello, thanks for the message. I just wanted to thank you for taking my comment into consideration, and I'm sorry if it caused any issues on your end. I'm going to do a relatively minor edit to the article when I add the pictures. I just want to change some details that have changed since I did the last edit, and I can see if there is any information that can be removed when I do that edit. I will probably add new pictures to the article on Tuesday because I am tired right now and I know that I'll be tired tomorrow. Again, I'm sorry if this caused any issues on your end, and thank you for your help. :)

At 06:51, Oct 07, 2019

Donagansaid:

Sure, Chris, I'll take a look at the Epcot article. I'm still working on the Disneyland piece right now (for food and shopping).

At 17:09, Oct 08, 2019

Annasaid:

How're your injuries today? Healing up okay - and the phone?

At 18:51, Oct 08, 2019

Annasaid:

Aw I'm glad it's healing up, but sorry in the meantime - that stinks! At least the iPhone is an easy and reasonable fix, eh? If only our bodies would cooperate like that!

At 01:50, Oct 09, 2019

Annasaid:

Oh bummer! I wonder if that’s the count being kind of slow to catch up, or if maybe it’s adjusting because of vandalism - I think when articles get blanked, in theory the articles go back to the video queue (if they were in it once upon a time), and then when they’re restored, they go out of the queue again. So a bit of jumping is probably to be expected, but I’m sorry if it’s throwing you off!

At 02:22, Oct 09, 2019

Annasaid:

Understood! :)

At 22:40, Oct 09, 2019

Annasaid:

Yay!

And gotta love the muppets, too :)

At 00:45, Oct 10, 2019

Annasaid:

Not yet but she’s only really seen two movies so far, and isn’t ready to pay real attention to any anyway, just yet. In due course we will def do the Muppet movies. My favorite was always the pirates one!

At 02:07, Oct 10, 2019

Annasaid:

To each their own I suppose ;)

At 18:27, Oct 10, 2019

Annasaid:

Bummer! Is it never working, or just sometimes? Have you tried a second account too?

I don't know if I have the list available to me in any way I can access myself, but I can have a poke around and see. I'll file a bug report, though, either way.

Another thing we could potentially do is actually make a list of *newer* articles that aren't in the Video queue at all and see if we can do manual embedding there. That wouldn't help your specific quest to get that queue to zero, but I wonder if it might help readers more than working on the older/stubby articles? Wdyt?

At 18:32, Oct 10, 2019

Annasaid:

Yeah, a huge bummer - it's such an ancient tool, but I know you were really on a roll with the getting the count down! I'm sorry to harsh that buzz. I'm bumping the previous bug report we had about it now, but I don't know how high priority a fix it'll be. I do think that there's some potential in running a parallel project for Video Adder types, though, maybe even helping to get videos on more crucial reader topics that don't have them. Noodle on it a bit, and I will too, and we'll see how it shakes out!

At 18:35, Oct 10, 2019

Annasaid:

I'm sorry, Chris - definitely sounds buggy. I'll include that in the report!

At 15:41, Oct 11, 2019

Annasaid:

Hey hey - Re , judging by their site, this is region-specific. In areas where Tips weren't previously a feature, they notify drivers when it becomes one, and drivers have to opt in. I'm guessing that it was already rolled out in your area when you joined, so that's why you never saw it. I made a clarification edit in the intro, but suggest we keep this unless/until Uber updates their own document on this (since we can't possibly test in every region around the world, hah). Hope that works for ya - let me know if you have concerns.

At 16:14, Oct 11, 2019

Annasaid:

Ok, I'll ask the team to keep an eye on how it does with real readers over the next few months, then - their experiences can probably guide us on that one. If it's helping people in some regions, we'll see that in the data (or if Uber updates their info - finally! - we can make a move then, too).

At 16:19, Oct 11, 2019

Annasaid:

No prob! Thanks for keeping an eye out for that stuff - we can take it down in due course if it's not helping anyone. We just want to be sure to cover topics that folks might need even if they're in parts of the world where we can't test directly right now (in case the guy you were talking to on the phone had it wrong or there are any exceptions to not needing to op-in out there).
