    Plant Phytoncides

Phytoncides are a kind of plant immunity - and in many cases a medicine for humans. In general, there are two classes of these substances: volatile and non-excretory (that is, non-volatile). In the summer of one hectare of deciduous forest allocates about two kilograms of volatile volatile phytoncids in one day.The term "phytoncide" was introduced by the Soviet researcher B.P. Tokin in 1928 and is used primarily in Russian-language literature.
Phytoncides are particularly active in case of damage to plants. Volatile volatile production, such as the allocation of oak, fir, pine, eucalyptus, have a beneficial effect on the human body at a distance. They are able to destroy the simplest and some insects in minutes.
Phytoncides of a fir destroy a pertussis stick, pines - a stick of Koch, birch - a microbe of Staphylococcus aureus. But with a wild rosemary or a yasnec should be careful - their discharge is poisonous to humans.
The impact of volatile production is not limited to only onekilling pathogenic bacteria: they also inhibit their reproduction and stimulate the vital activity of microorganisms, which are antagonists for pathogenic forms of microbes.

    The use of phytoncides

The chemical composition of volatile production varies, but almost always includes glycosides, terpenoids and tannins. Paradoxically, phytoncides are much more effective in protecting humans and animals from infections than are plants. The list of plants whose phytoncides are useful for a person can be continued for a very long time: these are sage, mint, sweet clover, wormwood, thistle, horsetail, dagil, yarrow and many others.
For many years, preparations containing garlic, onion, St. John's wort, juniper, bird cherry, thuja, and many other plants have been actively used in both traditional and traditional medicine. They successfully fight with Trichomonas colpitis, heal purulent wounds, abscesses and trophic ulcers. The use of phytoncides orally is recommended for such diseases as atony of the intestines, flatulence, catarrh of the intestines, hypertension, bronchial and cardiac asthma, putrefactive bronchitis and many others.
Alcohol solutions and extracts of garlic and onions (allylchep and allylsap) in small quantities have a beneficial effect on the body, increase urine output, slow pulse and increase the strength of heart contractions. They are also used for colds and intestinal disorders.
